Senior Women’s Brenda King Foursomes Championship
Venue : Minchinhampton Golf Club – The Cherington Course
Date : 1st – 2nd October 2020
Closing Date : 12 noon, 31st August 2020 Entry Fee : £70.00 per pair
Terms of the Competition
The Tournament :
a) The Tournament shall be open to female amateur golfers from GB&I.
b) The Tournament shall consist of 36 holes of Foursomes Stroke Play. One round of 18 holes shall be played each day.
c) In round two, a side must change the order in which they play from the teeing grounds, from the order they played in round one.
d) The winners shall be the competitors who return the lowest score over 36 holes.
e) Ties shall be decided in the 2nd round then the 1st
f) Should that fail to produce a result, ties shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the last completed round. If a tie still arises it shall be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 holes of the first nine holes of the last completed round. If a tie still arises, each of the preceding rounds played shall be treated in the same way (taking each round in the reverse order to that in they were played) until a decision is reached.
g) The handicap allowance will be half the aggregate of the partners (for the nett prize).
h) All players will walk the course; no buggies unless prior permission given by the Tournament Committee.
i) Any disputes shall be settled by the Tournament Committee whose decision will be final.
a) There will be a maximum of 72 pairs taken on a first come first served basis.
b) If entries exceed 72 pairs, the next 20 pairs shall be placed on a reserve list.
c) No entry fees will be refunded in the event of a pairing scratching from the Championship after the closing date.
d) No entries will be accepted before Wednesday 1st April 2020
e) In the event of a player being unable to play, the substitution of a playing partner is at the discretion of the Tournament Committee
Entry Qualification :
Entrants must be :
a) 50 or over on the first day of the Tournament
b) In possession of a competition “c” handicap not exceeding 24.4 under the GB&I CONGU Unified Handicapping System.
Winner and Prizes :
The winners of the 36 Hole Gross Competition will be the holders for one year of the Brenda King Salvers.
The winners of the 36 Hole Nett Competition will be the holders for one year of the Carter Candlesticks.
Prize vouchers shall be awarded to the top 4 pairs for the Best Gross Score and the top 4 pairs for the Best Nett Score. In addition, prize vouchers shall also be awarded to the Best Day 1 Score (gross and nett) and Best Day 2 Score (gross and nett).
Only one prize per competitor.
All prizes are subject to the number of entries received.

BRENDA KING FOURSOMES
The Brenda King Foursomes is being held at Minchinhampton GC on the 1st and 2nd October 2020. It will be played on The Cherington Course – please use postcode GL8 8SB to get to the club. The location is at the New Course site not the Old.
Entries will open on the 1st April and close on 31st August 2020.
The maximum number of pairs is 72 and will be accepted on a receipt of application basis.
The handicap limit is 24.4 for each player
The tee times will be posted on the website shortly after the tournament has closed. First tee times will be from 08.30am.
A practice round is available on Wednesday 30th September. Please email or call Tom Sheffield on email@example.com or 01453 833866 to book.
The club has a range with tokens available from the Pro Shop. There is also a short game area and putting green.
A toilet is available on the course and a halfway hut will be in operation too.
Registration will be on Wednesday 30th September in the competitors room – upstairs in the clubhouse.
A competitors dinner will be held on the Thursday night at the club. Please indicate on the Entry Form if you would like to attend. Payment will be taken on registration – price estimated at £20 – CASH only please.
There is limited parking available on the Thursday – please could players travel with partners on that day. Friday will have ample parking.
Presentation of prizes and trophies will take place after close of play.
